Do I need drawing skill for body painting?

Q: …today was the first day I ever seen body painting done and it really interested me. My biggest concern is that I have no artistic experience, I suck at drawing and painting but would that be something I could overcome with this (body painting) class if I was to take it?

A: Drawing ise the most essential basic skill for any type of painting including body painting.

It helps with both the planning stage (sketching out ideas etc.) and the actual painting.

That said, some body paintings don’t actually use drawing techniques. For example, if you’re doing something with patterns, you can use airbrush and stencils. But again, as part of preparing the stencils, drawing skill would be very useful.
